I develop ideas, create images and craft compelling text based on my interpretation and observations of the world around me.
As a scientist and having spent years as both a marine and forest surveyor, I have collected ideas and inspiration as I’ve explored Earth. I draw an enormous fascination from nature’s processes and flows. The ebb and flood of tides. The rise and fall of rivers. Migrating sand banks and the erosion of cliffs. The browning of leaves as summer fades into autumn.
With these ideas, I retreat into my lab and develop concepts which then become fully fledged creative output.
My work tends to fall into one or more themes:
Photography, inspired by change in nature
Compelling text with unique tone-of-voice
Crisp, clear graphic design
Eye-catching, minimal charts and graphs, inspired by the likes of Tufte
Having worked with 2D and 3D imagery, data and design for about two decades, I’ve picked up a few tricks and developed a strong creative eye. You may be able to gain something from the way I see the world, too.
